About the Department with Year of establishment: 1972

Department of Philosophy is one of the oldest departments in Government Auto. College Phulbani. It has started its glorious journey in the year 1972 as an Elective Subject. After conferment of Autonomous status in the year 2005, the elective course upgraded to a Honours Subject. Since its inception, the department is imparting value based quality education to the tribal dominated youths of Kandhamal District. It caters the need of Philosophical education to the students of Kandhamal and nearby Districts. The Philosophy Curriculum is designed in accordance with Model CBCS syllabus of national standard. The department aims at improvement of rational, moral and intellectual development of the students through holistic approach. The young and dynamic faculty members of the department constantly trying to instill the sense of rationality with the pursuit of wisdom and virtue to its pupils.
