The Youth Red Cross, Odisha is an integralpart of Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) made up of young people which aims to inspire, encourage and initiate at all times, all forms of humanitarian activities

OBJECTIVES-
The objectives of Youth Red Cross (Odisha) is to train the “Zealous” Youth, in the Fundamental Principles of Red Cross, so that they remain “imperturbable, un-wearying, unfaltering” & develop in them the elements of “quiet self-sacrifice” when disasters strike humanity. Keeping this in view the Youth Red Cross endeavors as follows for:
- Promotion of potentialities of the Youth to enable them to render skilled philanthropic servicetonedupbya sense of self-sacrifice, for the mitigation of suffering of the needy and the distressed;
- Promotion of health, hygiene and sanitation and cognate subjects among the members of the community for prevention of diseases and mitigation of suffering;
- Promotion of motivation among the youth for fostering friendship and fraternity(the spirit of“Tutti-Fratelli”) at the National and international level;
- Promotion of qualities of leadership and traits of personality among the youth;
- Promotion of sprit of self-reliance and dignity of labour among the youth;
- Promotion of training in various skills to render qualified service to the needy;
- Promotion of factors which may contribute to the establishment of peace at the national and internationallevel;

Functions of the District Committee
- The Convenor-Secretary and District Co-ordinator ensures the timely deposition of 30% state share of different colleges.
- The district Committee ensures maintenance of YRC volunteers of the Colleges of the District and finalizes the date and venue of the District Level YRC Study -cum-Training Camp.

RED RIBBON CLUB
The Red Ribbon Club is a movement started by GoI in educational institutions which targets the youth regarding HIV/AIDS awareness. Red Ribbon Clubs are envisaged to instill among all the students in the educational institutions values of service, develop healthy life styles, and increase access to safe and adequate quantities of blood to all the needy by promotion of regular voluntary blood donation.
The Red Ribbon Club was established in the year 2024 which was a significant step towards fostering awareness about HIV/AIDS, promoting healthy lifestyles, and encouraging voluntary blood donation among students.

3. | 03.04.2025 04.04.2025 | World Health Day | On the eve of World Health Day the RRC and YRC unit of the college organized various competitions. QuizDebate The World Health Day 2025 was observed in the college premises which was graced by Dr. Joydeep Ghosh, Blood Bank Officer, DHH Kandhamal. He enlightened the students about the maternal health issues. The winners of various competitions were awarded and the passing out YRC Volunteers were felicitated in this occasion. |
